The Rotary Club of Romsey Test is perhaps best known for Walk The Test Way. In 2019 it will be on Sunday September 29th. Each year around 700 walkers walk various distances of the beautiful Test Way, raising funds for charity. Planning is a twelve months’ activity; and on the day we guide and encourage walkers along the route. Since the first Walk in 2003, this has enabled walkers to raise the outstanding sum of over £700,000 for charities of their choice.
Further details and how to register are on the link above.
We run Reminiscences of Romsey for over 200 senior citizens and members of friendship groups in the town. This is an afternoon of friendship and entertainment at the Crosfield Hall. In 2020 it will be on Saturday 14 March. If you know of someone who would like to attend, please get in touch.
The Rotary Club of Romsey Test organises the Mayor’s Picnic on behalf of the Mayor of Romsey. This is a very enjoyable day attended by literally thousands of people from Romsey and the surrounding area, taking place on the first Sunday of July each year. The event also provides an excellent opportunity for local charities and organisations to raise awareness and much needed funds.
Our Community activity is at the heart of what we do. We are always looking for worthwhile causes to support, especially those that might be “below the radar”, be it for individuals or organisations. We also run a ‘Know Your Blood Pressure Day’, to raise awareness of strokes and other consequences of high blood-pressure.
We are also very active as a Club in helping the young people in our community, working with local schools and youth groups. Our activities include the very successful annual Young Technologist Tournament and Peace Jam activities helping young people to learn about the skills needed to settle disputes whether on the world stage or in their own lives.
We also work internationally be it providing Shelter Boxes in disaster areas or dental services (through support of Dentaid) to parts of the world that have none.
Members of the Rotary Club of Romsey Test seek to serve our community and make a positive contribution to Community, Youth and International activities and charities.
If you would like to know more or help with these and similar activities, please get in touch. We welcome new members or just people who are interested in making a difference.
Thank-you for your support. We look forward to hearing from you.
