Welcome to the Rotary Club of Romsey Test website
The Rotary Club of Romsey Test is perhaps best known for organising Walk The Test Way. This sponsored walk has been a huge success. Since 2003 it has raised £950,000 for numerous charities.
This year we have had to cancel the physical event but inspired by Captain Tom we have adopted a virtual walk instead. Entitled Walk The Test Another Way, walkers are invited to obtain sponsorship for their chosen charity, register as usual and then complete their selected challenge at their convenience ( see www.walkthetestway.org for more details).
We run Reminiscences of Romsey for over 200 senior citizens and members of friendship groups in the town. This is an afternoon of friendship and entertainment at the Crosfield Hall. In 2020 the event was cancelled but we hope to be back in 2021.
Community activity is at the heart of what we do. We are always looking for worthwhile causes to support, especially those that might be very specific local needs, be it for individuals or organisations.
That said, Rotary is a huge global charity that has instigated philanthropic projects on a vast scale. The almost completed project to eradicate polio from the planet is the most prominent example.
We are also very active as a Club in helping the young people in our community, working with local schools and youth groups. Our activities include the very successful annual Young Technologist Tournament and Peace Jam activities helping young people to learn skills needed throughout their adult lives.
We also work internationally be it providing Shelter Boxes in disaster areas or dental services (through support of Dentaid) to parts of the world that have none.
Members of the Rotary Club of Romsey Test seek to serve our community and make a positive contribution to Community, Youth and International activities and charities.
If you would like to know more or help with these and similar activities, please get in touch. We welcome new members or just people who are interested in making a difference.
Thank-you for your support. We look forward to hearing from you.
